Agriculture and Animal Husbandry

Agriculture and Animal Husbandry are the sectors which can generate significant employment opportunities in rural and semi-urban areas. Anubandh has started working in these sectors to provide skill training, advocacy, and find market opportunities for the products and services to encourage sustainable agriculture practices, organic farming, protection, and enhancement of indigenous breeds of milk-producing animals.

Currently, we are working closely with 50 farmers on organic farming practices. We work with them at every stage right from selecting the right seeds to harvesting the final produce. We are also creating a market space for these organic produce to get these farmers fair compensation for their hard work.

We are aiming at providing value-added incentives for farmers. However, we are looking to fulfill certain requirements to be more effective in our efforts. We need knowledge sharing and other material and financial resources to get the know-how of preparing healthy cattle feed, crushing dry leaves for making organic manure, cleaning and grading the agriculture products, and a packaging unit. Such facilities will enhance farmers’ income.

Apart from cow-based farming and milk, we want to produce organic products from cow dung and urine. This will help farmers in generating an alternative income source other than farming and it can help them afford maintenance of cows.

We are also working on preparing fertilizer with many farmers. Thus, gradually the farmers can do organic farming and fertilize the soil.

Gaushala – Cow Hostel: Anubhandh wants to contribute to the protection of the purity of indigenous cow breeds by creating a facility for cow breeding and cow rearing.
